Hi! Welcome! You can learn more about me through the links at the bottom of this post. Here's a summary of three major areas in my life:
A little about Jessica D'Amico (jeda)
I'm a project coordinator at a nonprofit professional association. I enjoy the complexity and multitasking that managing multiple projects, volunteers, and authors provides me.
My job does not define me but serves to 1) pay the bills, and 2) exercise the anal-retentive portion of my personality. I always look for ways to exercise and develop different areas ;)
For example, I was a graphic designer in another lifetime, but...realized I wasn't any good at it ^_^ Which did wonders for understanding the publishing world--a relevant part of my current day-to-day activities.
One of my lifelong goals is to complete a masters degree--V1.0 begun Fall 2007, V2.0 begun Spring of 2009. I one day want to delve into career opportunities in the social sciences (one of my passions).
JOBS 2& 3
I started Four Tongues Communications to edit, write, and translate. I've lived in three countries and leverage my experience to help others and provide myself a sustainable, ongoing source of income. I'm also an amazon associate and an apparel designer.
What I do for fun
I have an inborn need to understand what goes on around me and why.
I enjoy traveling, ethnic food, eating out, hanging out, and anything that's online.
I'm a vegetarian who eats out every weekend. It's cheaper than traveling and is my favorite way to indulge.
I'm a neophite Japan otaku.
I escape the little negative voice inside my head by keeping busy and by fugueing through work, reading, hanging out, and online activities.
Computers and Me
It's been a one-way passionate affair...like most of my passionate affairs usually are. I can't code to save my life, but I'll be damned if I'll keep away :)
My dad was a computer engineer in the early to mid 80s, and I grew up hacking into his Comodore 64 trying to access the Impossible Mission game.
My uncanny online search skills and social media knack have awed, impressed, and alarmed my family, friends, and coworkers.
I love writing (no really?) and take advantage of the Internet's numerous platforms (and my 3 blogs and Twitter) to exercise this creative muscle.
...as you can tell, I enjoy spending vast amounts of energy and time online, though for me, it seems like mere minutes--it's effortless. Thank you for spending some of your, online time getting to know me but be sure to keep in touch, don't be a stranger!
Follow My Trail ^_^
