This weekend was incredibly sunny, and very crisp. The perfect time of year to hit the apple farm a skip and a jump away from where we live.
We took a lovely, leisurely drive to Maple Park, Illinois to visit Kuiper Family Farm. We brought back several lovely souvenirs, which we'll eat! Those are the best souvenirs in my book.
The Kuiper farm has grown quite a bit since we were last there. They have a children's maze and entertainment area on the left while you drive up the road, or the regular farm which includes a huge store with hundreds (if not thousands) of SKUs, the apple picking area, the christmas tree picking area, and a little cafe.
You can't leave without a cup of hot mulled cider, lots of nibble samples, and a few apple cinnamon cider donuts and pies. MMM. We got some peanut caramel apples too.
I was actually talking with someone recently about what pumpkin farms there are in our area, and I mentioned Kuiper farms to her. They have a lot of events for the entire family starting at around this time of year.
